Game Information:

This is Death in Space, a dark future where humanity is holding on by a thread as the universe slowly collapses in around them. Each day is a struggle for survival.
After a devastating resource war, the remnants of mankind have scrapped together a meager living by combining most remaining vessels, modules and habitats into a floating colony called the Iron Ring.
Nothing is new.
Advanced knowledge of manufacturing, technology, and production is lost. Relics of the war and times prior are highly sought after and exorbitantly valuable.
The post war power vacuum has created a reality where rich or powerful entities have claimed domains across the Iron Ring. There is no central authority. In rare cases multiple domains come together to work in a mutual manner, but these relationships are strained at best.
Life isn’t easy. Most jobs are hard, labor intensive and dangerous. The industrious among the population realize there is great value in doing work for others. The more dangerous the job the better. Contracts are the real form of currency on the Ring. Completing contracts pays clean money and builds reputations. This in turn leads to better contracts and more money.
Augmenting the challenges of space living is the Void, an encroaching phenomenon of unknown origin or nature. It’s tendrils seem to affect those whose ambitions take them outside the day to day grind on the Ring. Deep space navvies, asteroid miners and others who toil in the vacuum weave tales of strange voices and stranger encounters.
